Japanese Tea Culture, Updated
for How People Cafe Now.

Born in Tokyo, Nana's Green Tea is a Japanese-style cafe brand widely established in Japan. A defining feature is how it evolves traditional Japanese tea culture into a modern cafe style that fits today's lifestyles.

In its international expansion, the brand avoids a simple takeout model, instead adopting a format where customers can enjoy authentic meals and sweets in-store. In cities across North America and Asia where cafe culture is rooted, it has gained a strong reputation from local clientele as a new form of Japanese tea cafe.

Key Features of
the Overseas Franchise

Matcha at 3PM. Udon at 7PM.
Different Reasons to Come.

While many cafe chains focus on beverages and light snacks, Nana's Green Tea provides authentic Japanese meals such as udon and rice bowls.

This allows the brand to secure demand for substantial lunches and dinners in addition to casual cafe use. This gives the cafe a reason to be in use across more of the day — not just during the morning coffee window.

Modern Tea Room Design.
A Reason to Stay Longer.

The brand adopts a simple and unified store design based on the concept of the "Modern Tea Room." This Japanese-inspired space provides customers with a relaxing atmosphere and a special experience.

Providing a quality space that goes beyond a dining venue creates brand attachment among customers. This helps establish a brand position that is valued for openings in commercial facilities, allowing it to remain competitive without relying on price.

Sourced from Historic Tea Wholesalers.
No Artificial Anything.

Amid growing global interest in matcha, Nana's Green Tea sources select tea leaves from historic Japanese tea wholesalers and manages them under its own quality standards.

The brand adheres to a quality-first policy, pulling out the rich aroma and natural colors of matcha without using artificial flavorings or colorings. This authentic taste has gained trust from overseas consumers, giving the brand a distinct character among the growing number of matcha offerings overseas.

For operators evaluating this model, the key question is how the sourcing relationship with historic Japanese tea wholesalers — central to the brand's positioning — can be reliably maintained across markets as the network expands.

The Matcha Is the Point.
So Is the Udon.

Reading through the reviews, there's a line that stuck with me: "I go here not for the green tea — but for the chicken katsu." Which is, honestly, a good sign for a matcha cafe. It means the food menu is holding up on its own terms, not just as a side to the drink.

The "Modern Tea Room" thing lands differently in person than it sounds on paper. Based on the reviews, it seems like a space people stay in — not just pass through. That combination of matcha drinks, meals, and a space worth sitting in is the thing that's harder to replicate than any single menu item.
