The Craft That Took Years.
Now Takes Minutes.

Founded in Tokyo in 1989, Tenya (Tendon Tenya) is a brand that has built a system to provide traditional Japanese tempura within a daily fast-food price range.

Currently, the brand is expanding its locations primarily in the Asian market. By systematizing the advanced cooking techniques traditionally required of craftsmen, the brand achieves both reduced serving times and stable quality. Tempura cooked with vegetable oil is accepted by local customers as an accessible meal, functioning as a core driver for attracting regular foot traffic.

Key Features of
the Overseas Franchise

Automated Oil Control.
Consistent Tempura. Every Time.

One of the strengths in Tenya's business structure is the introduction of its independently developed auto-fryer. This system automates cooking processes that would normally require years of experience, such as oil temperature management and frying time.

This system makes it possible even for inexperienced staff to stably provide uniform, high-quality tempura. It is a rational system that reduces the time and labor costs associated with hiring and training, facilitating multi-store expansion (scalability).

Where Health Trends Meet
Fast Food Margins.

The menu composition, centered on shrimp, white fish, and a variety of vegetables cooked in vegetable oil, functions as a new fast-food option for consumers who tend to reduce meat consumption due to rising health consciousness.

By providing product value that is differentiated from existing meat-based chains, the brand establishes a unique market position while avoiding direct price competition.

Tempura First.
Noodles Add the Margin.

In addition to the main offerings of tempura and tendon, the brand provides traditional Japanese noodles such as soba and udon as set menus.

These menu developments are evaluated by local consumers as substantial, satisfying meals. Through a product design that encourages natural cross-selling beyond single items, the brand achieves a stable increase in the average customer spend.

Asakusa Craft. Fast Food Speed.
No Compromise.

It is noteworthy how the brand provides quality rooted in Asakusa's tradition at an everyday price range. Their operational system, which provides freshly fried quality promptly—without the intimidating exclusivity of high-end restaurants—is a key factor in gaining local support. This accessibility, even for those new to Japanese cuisine, helps build brand credibility.

In a meat-centric market, positioning seafood and vegetables as the main offerings serves as an effective strategy for differentiation from competitors. The efficient operations that systematize craftsmanship, combined with a satisfying menu configuration of noodle sets, form a rational system supporting profitability. As a powerful model for spreading Japanese food culture, it holds high potential for expansion in the global market.
